How Can I Help College and University Dietetics Programs Incorporate an Entrepreneurship Curriculum?
The Jump Start® Business School was created for college and university professors, along with dietetic internship directors, to implement into their dietetics curriculum. Today’s nutrition graduates don’t want to work in hospitals or nursing homes but start a private practice out of the gate…and innovative they are!
Curriculum may be used as a one semester course or as modules to fit your program. This program can easily be implemented to teach your students or interns how to write a business and marketing plan, develop a budget and determine complete requirements of their future dietetic-related business. The program comes with facilitator handbook and slide show along with one FREE student manual/workbook. Volume discounts are given for individual student manuals. Course instructor will receive respective 27 CPE credits listed below for completing the program along with the self-study assessment/evaluation.
Students will learn how to:
- Distinguish between an entrepreneur and someone who is self-employed
- Target their market and define their niche
- Develop or refine their business and marketing plan
- Hone their advisors, resources, and tools
- Budget and price their services
- Insurance reimbursement considerations
- Market their services, including website development and networking
They will also learn about other entrepreneurs in the dietetics field and how they got started.
