Mindfulness yoga is a powerful form of self-expression
Are your patients able to express themselves honestly and openly? Many of our eating disorders clients have a difficult time using their voice. They may find that they are able to express their thoughts and feelings through non-verbal communication. Mindfulness yoga can help them access what is stuck and bring it forward.
Conversation is a barrier to intimacy...you can talk your way out of feeling. And, our clients do. The creative life force that runs through them may become stifled when they try to express themselves through words. By observing your clients' body language through yoga therapy for eating disorders treatment, you can learn much more about them than from what they may verbalize.
